When people around were discussing where to go for a trip, I always said “No place is ever better than our city Xin Zhou!” This was not empty talk, but words from my heart. Well, how can a whistle stop tour just skimming the surface be comparable to the further touch of this land---of her spirit and of her soul.
这是一片古老神奇的土地。位于山西省中北部的忻州，古称“秀容”，从新石器时代，就有人类开始活动，至今已有将近18000年的历史。历代多为郡、州治所，险关要塞，人杰地灵，商贾往来，兵家必争，故有“晋北锁钥”之称。
This is an old and magical land. Located at the north-centre of Shanxi province, Xin Zhou was formerly known as “Xiu Rong”. For nearly 18,000 years from the Neolithic Age, there has existed human activities. Because of its dangerous fortresses, outstanding people and smart land, it has long been a place of commercial and military significance, and has mostly been chosen as legacy in all dynasties, so it is always known as “suo yue”of Shanxi province.

This is a beautiful and grand land, famous for its mountains, water and fortresses. 伴随着经济的发展，城市化的进程，人们的思想观念在发生着变化，生存状态发生着变迁。由充足的、丰裕的物质生活代替“吃了上顿没下顿”的凄惶，由新的生产方式取代原始落后的农耕生活，无疑是进步。城镇里，青壮年劳力涌进来，参与着建设，繁荣着经济，呈现出一派火热的发展景象。而在村落里，仅留守着老人和孩童，少了昔日鸡犬相闻的生机，少了过往夕阳牧歌的恬适，曾经的热闹已然无处可寻，只有那弃置的碾子、石磨，那生锈的镰刀、铁梨，那荒芜的
土地，那沉寂的大山，留下些许尚未完全淹没的痕迹，让人凭添几分惆怅。

In towns, labors in youth and in the prime of life pour into the construction of the city and into the economic prosperity, which appears prosperous development scenery. While in villages, there are only the old and children left, no vitality in family life, no harmony of pastoral songs in sunset and no hustle and bustle life any more. There are only abandoned rollers, and stone mills, rust sickles and ploughs, desert land and silent mountains, which leave somewhat remaining marks but make people feel melancholy.
在发展与变化中，定格黄河岸边那些正在滑过的岁月，捕捉黄土地上那些渐渐消逝的场景，大概就是我们这些摄影人的职责和使命所在吧！
In the process of development and change, as a photographer, probably it is our duty and destiny to record the vanishing time on the bank of Yellow River and seize the gradually disappearing scenery on the loess land.
