This text described that Mrs. Sterling had met with robbers while she was having a picnic with her children at the edge of a forest. They tried to get her handbag. After struggling, the robbers grabbed the bag and ran through the trees beside her.

Mrs. Sterling did not think about the safety of herself. She ran after them straightly. She was out of breath soon, but she did not stop running after.

When she caught up with the robbers, she saw that they were going through the contents of her handbag. She rushed towards them and the robbers got a shock. They dropped the bag and ran away. Though the strap of bag was broken, she got her bag back.

When Mrs. Sterling met with robbers, she did not think about the safety of her children and herself. She rushed towards them directly.

This reminds me to remember a matter concerning my closest friend. Some years ago, she took her four-year-old son to go to Guangzhou. Her husband worked in Guangzhou.

On that day, her husband was late to pick them up for the traffic jam, so she took her son waiting for her husband outside the exit of railway station.

Then there was a thief, who was clear to regard them as outsiders from the other city. And he found that she was taking a child by herself, so he grabbed her

gold necklace from her neck and ran away.

At that time, my friend got very angry, but she did not run after the thief. She thought that her son might be brought away by others if she ran after the thief. It is quite sure that child is more important than gold necklace.

She lost her gold necklace, but she kept her son.

In 1929, the American explorer, R. E. Byrd became the first man to fly over the South Pole. He took a lot of photographs during the flight but then, he ran into difficulties. His plane could get over the mountains, so he ordered his men to

throw out two heavy food sacks. The plane then flew over the mountains and it continued without further trouble.

7、根据课文内容及知识点,试着自己写个小作文。

This text told us a story about an experience of an American explorer, R. E. Byrd, who flew over the South Pole for his first time. Three years before, he had finished a highly successful flight flew over the North Pole.

In the first act of the flight, R. E. Byrd and his partner enjoyed their journey and took a great many pictures of the mountains that lay below.

Before long, they ran into serious trouble with their plane. At one point, it seemed certain that the plane would crash. R. E. Byrd asked his partner decidedly to throw out two heavy food sacks, then the plane could be able to rise and cleared the mountains.

At last, they flew over the endless white plains and reached the South Pole.

I don’t know how to comment about this text, because it is too far from our ordinary life to have anything to do with it.

I don’t like taking risks myself, and I have never tried dangerous sports or dangerous projects in amusement parks.
